International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) has inaugurated a new center at the Naya Raipur campus. The main focus of the new center is to encourage interdisciplinary research in applied Mathematics.

established the new department, Centre for Applied Mathematics (CAM) to provide a common ground to the students, faculty members, and researchers of the Institute. It will also increase the volume of researches conducted.

The basic objective of CAM, IIIT Naya Raipur is to improve the research process in the field of Mathematics and the allied disciplines. The department also aims to work and solve the advanced mathematical problems prevalent in the contemporary world.

CAM has organized an “International Online workshop” at the IIIT Naya Raipur campus. It majorly focuses on the topics of Advanced Mathematics. The workshop has been officially declared as an annual event of CAM to be held at the IIIT NR campus.

Vice-Chancellor and Director of IIIT Naya Raipur, Dr Pradeep K. Sinha enlightened the need for a research institute to establish interdisciplinary research in Applied Mathematics. He stated that “Mathematics plays a major role in the development in Science and Technology.”
