IIM Ahmedabad Partners with SMC to Work on Academic, Industry Relevant Projects

New Delhi: IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA), has partnered with the Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), Japan, and signed a partnership agreement for research, advisory and student projects.

According to the official statement of IIM Ahmedabad, Professor Errol D’Souza, director, IIMA and Kinji Saito, director and senior managing officer, Suzuki Motor Corporation signed the partnership agreement during the ceremony held on the IIMA Campus.

Speaking during the event, Professor Errol D’Souza, director, IIMA, said that the faculty has amassed a substantial body of research in the fields of strategy, mobility, and transportation, and this partnership will provide the institute with more chances to make a contribution to the world of practice.

He said that over the years, SMC has had a fruitful career in India and made a substantial contribution to the country's economy. The collaboration will give the IIMA students an opportunity to collaborate on projects with the SMC teams and learn how they have made a significant influence on the Indian market

He went on to emphasise the spirit of collaborative culture that exists in both the institutions.

The official statement revealed that the IIMA-SMC collaboration will launch with a faculty-led research project to advise SMC on their future commercial diversification plan in India and beyond.

Further, Kinji Saito, addressing on behalf of SMC, stated that the company is anticipating the ideas generated by this partnership with IIMA.

While speaking to the IIMA students, during the event, the SMC director and senior management officer discussed SMC's long history of customer-centric innovations. He also emphasised India's crucial position in SMC's long-term strategic plan for the future.

Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has announced the establishment of the Kamla Chowdhry Communications Hub in honour of its founding professor, Professor Kamla Chowdhry, and her extraordinary contribution to the development and prosperity of IIMA on the occasion of Teacher's Day.
