IIM Indore inked MoU with Army Training Command & Army War College; Check Details Here


New Delhi: IIM Indore, Army Training Command (ARTRAC), and its subsidiary, the Army War College (AWC), signed an MOU to conduct training and professional discourse on February 9, 2022.

The MoU was signed between Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore and Lieutenant General Jaswinder Singh Sandhu, Chief of Staff, Headquarter of Army Training Command. The MOU will be in effect for a duration of three years.

As part of the MoU signed on Wednesday, IIM Indore will offer the Executive Fellow Programme in Management and Governance (EFPMG) specifically to serve armed services personnel. The nomination and selection of participants for this programme will be done between IIM Indore and AWC in accordance with the requirements.

Every year, AWC/ARTRAC will choose serving and eligible army officers with a postgraduate degree in a management subject and would provide their names for admission in IIM Indore. The selecting committee will make their decision based on merit.

Following completion of the programme, the degree will be awarded in accordance with the PhD norms and regulations.

Professor Himanshu Rai, director, IIM Indore said, “We are delighted to sign an MoU with AWC for a wide range of academic and research collaborations. The objective of this collaboration is to create ‘Warrior Scholars’, and learn from, and grow with each other”.

Lieutenant General Jaswinder Singh Sandhu expressed his joy at the engagement with IIM Indore, noting that IIM Indore is one of the premier management colleges that has collaborated with the government to solve social and administrative problems by delivering research-based solutions.

He further added, “It is a pleasure to collaborate with such a reputed institute that takes initiatives to contribute to the betterment of the society and nation as a whole”.

He also highlighted that AWC will do research on leadership and related topics. The engagement of IIM Indore Research Scholars would inject new ideas and bring up new viewpoints in the research work. 

Every year, three research scholars/interns (students) from IIM Indore will be nominated for research work on topics supported by AWC. These topics would cover current dealt with by the Indian Army. 

The research scholars will get a certificate from AWC acknowledging their contribution to the Indian Army's research programmes.
