Prof. Saumya Ranjan Dash stated that the institute strives to be a contextually-relevant business school and that this programme of IIM Indore would help officers improve their leadership and management abilities.

“We at IIM Indore focus on faculty-driven and participant-centred learning. You are already adept at managerial skills like decision-making, supply-chain management, logistics, etc. That makes you a perfect fit for the course. This programme will build on the talents you already have from your years of outstanding service to the country, so you can take advantage of the classroom sessions and engage with your peers to develop your abilities” he stated.

To maximise the efficiency of the programme, IIM Indore will use a deliberate combination of lectures, case studies, debates, group work, field trips, and prescribed reading material. The programme was created to optimise experiential learning by allowing for more meaningful interaction among peers in order to obtain a better comprehension of the themes.

The subjects include a wide range of topics, namely Business Economics, Financial Accounting and Control, Introduction to Quantitative Methods, Managerial Communications, Operations Management, Organizational Behaviour, HRM, Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship Orientation and Innovation, and others to name a few.

A total of 24 defence officers that include Wing Commander, Squadron Leader, Commander, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, and Colonel have signed up for the six-month non-residential on-campus training.

Lt. Col. Abhishek Mansingh praised IIM Indore's newly developed course. He emphasised the need of learning as much as possible from faculty members and through interactions with classmates, stating that IIM Indore is one of the greatest and top-ranked business schools in the world. He stated that this training will aid officers in making a smooth transition from defence to corporate, as well as upskilling them to meet current industry standards.
