New Delhi: One of the fastest-growing management institutes of India, IIM Indore has won silver under the Best CSR and Sustainability Initiatives Category at the Global Association of MBAs (AMBA) and Business Graduates Association (BGA) Excellence Award 2022.
During the award ceremony held on January 21, 2022, IIM Indore has secured its seventh position among the top institutes under the Best CSR & Sustainability initiatives category. The institute has also received the silver award for its various initiatives in the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) domain.

Competing with 290 accredited business schools from across the country, IIM Indore came out as the only Indian business school that secured top position under the initiatives award. Following this achievement, the institute will now be nominated for the Excellence Awards 2022.
While talking about the achievement of IIM Indore, Professor Himanshu Rai, Director said, “We are pleased to receive the Silver for the Best CSR and Sustainability Initiatives Category. We at IIM Indore are determined to develop socially conscious leaders, managers, and entrepreneurs who contribute efficiently to nation-building”.
Expressing his gratitude, he added, “I am thrilled to share that the entire IIM Indore community – including faculty and students, contribute to these initiatives, for we have pledged to make this world a better place to live in”.
IIM Indore Initiatives
Following the official press release, IIM Indore has worked on various initiatives in the past years. As a result, the institute is now holding the silver award and seventh position among the best management colleges.
In the list of various initiatives, IIM Indore has installed solar panels on its campus ground which will now be responsible for electricity consumption. The solar panel will use the organic waste and will turn it into usable electricity.
Furthermore, the institute has also initiated a rain-harvesting system to store and recycle the rain water for various applications. The rainwater will be collected and used for different activities on the campus such as gradering, campus cleaning, etc.
In addition to recycling waste materials into useful components, the institute has also taken a step towards helping stray dogs. As of now, the IIM Indore has provided shelter to over 35 stray dogs. Under this initiative, the institute has ensured their proper feeding and health adoption.
IIM Indore has also collaborated with government bodies to provide training to school teachers, strengthen beat policing, take control of traffic management, work on a strategy for Aatmanirbhar Bharat in the state, and improve financial literacy for women in MP and UP.

AMBA and BGA Excellence Award 2022 honors various growing institutes from around the world for their initiatives. Under the Best CSR and Sustainability Initiative category, Business Schools are provided with an opportunity to showcase their initiatives on a global platform.
