IIM Kashipur Successfully Hosts Annual HR Conclave “Samanvaya”

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management, IIM Kashipur has been successful in hosting the annual HR-Conclave "Samanvaya" 2022-Digital Chapter 3.

IIM Kashipur organised the event online via Zoom and while YouTube was used to stream it live. The theme of the annual HR Conclave event was "Human Centricity: Future of Workforce."

Mr. Rohit Sharma, Head of HR Operations at Bayer, Mr. Navneet Damani, General Manager Employee Relations at ITC Limited, Mr. Vikas Maheshwary, Global HR Transformation at Biocon Biologics, and Mr. Kiran Venugopal, Talent Services Analyst at Deloitte USI, an IIM Kashipur alumnus, welcomed the honorary guests at the start of the event.

Mr. Kiran Venugopal conducted the panel discussion on the subject of "Consumerization of HR: Employees as Brand Advocates."

The speakers discussed the significance of how organisations and businesses are impacted by consumer-oriented technologies as well as the calibre of talent present inside these organisations, which is essential for advancing businesses.

The panel discussed how teams within an organisation or company today often have members from nearly four generations; how these new, fresh employees have distinct expectations and aspirations they want to achieve that are quite different from previous generations; and also how work itself is changing in terms of its definition; how it is done in terms of tools, skills, and techniques, and where the work can be done.

They went on to discuss how managers could use an adaptive design approach, where customised roadmaps in terms of skills, needs, and flexibility are implemented, to help the new generation realise their full potential, and how a bottom-up approach could help engage more workers and instil a sense of accountability.

Employees should feel glad to work for a specific company; they should feel like they have a purpose and a sense of belonging, and HR should play a significant part in this.

Further, the students asked the distinguished panel a number of questions about current and future trends in workforce management, the effects of cutting-edge technology on employee skill development, and the usage of analytics tools for these purposes.

The speakers also expressed their deep appreciation for the students' engaged involvement in the conclave.
