Speaking about the collaboration, Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur said that Odisha boasts a number of impressive tribal handicrafts, resulting in the tribal artisans and craftsmen earning huge bucks with the skill they possess.

However, due to lack of entrepreneurial skills and a good market for their products, the tribal artisans and craftsmen are deprived and are not being rewarded properly for their artistic skills, Jaiswal said.

As a part of the MoU, the institute will work to link the tribal artists and youths with the global market, which will help tribal handicrafts reach the best market and youths receive appreciation for their hard work and good money for their products, he said.

The institute will work towards providing a better market for agri-products of tribals. It will also ensure to groom the next generation tribal kids for high-quality education.
