New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Sirmaur has successfully concluded its sixth annual Convocation Ceremony on the campus at Paonta Sahib. At the event, a total of 186 students were awarded with Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees.
As per IIM Sirmaur, the event's chief guest was Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé India Ltd. On this occasion, IIM Sirmaur Director Prof Prafulla Y Agnihotri gave his speech in the presence of Ajay S. Shriram, Chairman of Board of Governors and Senior Managing Director of DCM Shriram.
At the Convocation Ceremony, IIM Sirmaur MBA students received their degrees in the presence of their faculty members and parents. 186 students in total received the Master of Business Administration degree (MBA), out of which 41 were girls scholars.
The Chairman's gold medal was given to Jaju Vinay Kamal and Mohammad Ayaan Ahmad. While Atindra Saha and Ashish Kumar placed second in merit and were awarded the director's medals. Additionally, a Special Recognition Award was granted to Ishan Mishra and Ashish Kumar for their "Best All Round Performance."
Suresh Narayanan inspired the students during his online convocation speech by sharing his "C" mantras for success, saying; "Clarity, competence, boldness, creativity, limitations, compassion, contentment, and continual learning are my mantras for success".
In his speech, he further emphasised that the MBA program of the institute was only a boarding pass and that competency was what determined one's trajectory in life. Happiness is ultimately the most important aim in life, he added.
Speaking to the audience, Professor Prafulla Y Agnihotri revealed that IIM Sirmaur and the Consortium of International Universities (IIE) had signed an MoU, granting IIM access to all French public universities and allowing students to earn an official M2 State Degree in France after completing their credits.
