New Delhi IIM - Visakhapatnam recently completed its summer placement drive for the 2023 batch. The Institute witnessed a record stipend offer of Rs 3.5 lakh for a two-month internship with an increase of 75% from the previous year.
According to the Career Development Services, IIM-Visakhapatnam just completed its summer placements drive for the 2023 batch has been completed. The institute achieved 100% placement and the average stipend offered across the batch was around Rs 58,000.
The Director of IIM - Visakhapatnam, Prof. M. Chandrasekhar also congratulated his pupils on their achievements and also commented, “I strongly believe that our student cohort will make a useful contribution to the operations of their recruiters, whom I thank profusely for the good learning opportunities provided.”
Around 50 companies participated in this year’s summer placement session. This included both new and existing recruiters spread across a diverse range of industries. Amazon, Amul, Berger, Deloitte, Adani, HSBC, EY, Delhivery, Bosch, Tech Mahindra are among the most prominent ones. Based on the reports released by Career development services, recruitment by the IT/ITES comprised 27% of the total, followed by BFSI (22%), Consulting (12%), Manufacturing and Ed Tech (10% each) and E-Commerce (5%).
The highest package offered was Rs 31.60 lakhs, showing an increase of 51.78% compared to last year. The medium and average packages at Rs 15.46 lakhs and Rs 15.06 lakh also witnessed significant growth of 28.83% and 19.33% respectively from last year’s placement session.
Prof. Deepika Gupta, chair of Career Development services also commended the students of the 2023 batch. According to her, 100% placement was achieved easily because students were able to get accustomed to the online academic environment and demonstrated exceptional performance.
