IIT Bombay Offers PG and PhD Courses in various specialisations that include Ph.D., M.Tech., M.Tech.+ Ph.D. (Dual Degree), M.Sc.­ Ph.D.(Dual Degree) (Energy), Master in Public Policy (MPP), M.S. by Research (CS & CMInDs), MA+Ph.D (Dual Degree) in Philosophy in the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences and Master of Arts by Research (MA.Res.). Candidates seeking admission to these programs can apply online till April 12, 2022

IIT Bombay PG and PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Listed below are the eligibility criteria for admission to various PG and PhD Admission 2022:

PhD Admission:

• A valid bachelors and masters degree in Engineering or Science from a recognized university.
• Valid GATE/CEED/score
• Selected through National Eligibility Test – UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship)
• Selected through a National level examination conducted by MHRD or its agencies /Institutions such as UGC/ IIT/ IISc./ IISER/ IIIT etc.
• Selected provisionally  for the DST­INSPIRE Fellowship (provisional  award letter to be produced)
• Minimum of TWO years of professional experience (acquired after  obtaining the qualifying degree and completed before the starting of the  semester in which  admission is sought)

M.Tech Admission

• B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engineering) / Bachelor of Architecture /Bachelor of  Planning/M.Sc. / M.C.A. /MBBS (Medicine) / BDS (Dental), B.Pharm/  B.V.Sc., B.P.Th. ,B.O.Th., B.ASLP, Pharma. D (Duration 4 years or more)

M.Tech. + Ph.D. (Dual Degree) Admission 

• Candidates eligible for admission to M.Tech. Programs are also eligible for M.Tech.+Ph.D.   Dual   Degree   Programme,   in   certain   disciplines/ specializations. There is a common application for M.Tech. and M.Tech.+ Ph.D. (Dual Degree) Programme.
• Candidates after getting admission to M.Tech. Programme will be considered for M.Tech.+ Ph.D. (Dual Degree) Programme if they have opted for it in the application.

IIT Bombay PG and PhD Admission 2022: Selection Process

IIT Bombay Admission takes place in 2 stages. First the candidates are judged on the basis of a written entrance Exam. In the second stage, an interview round is conducted to decide the final admission. 

For candidates applying to MA+Ph.D (Dual Degree)  in Philosophy in the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, Dual Degree Entrance Exam in Philosophy (DDEEP) 2022 will be conducted followed by a personal interview. The entrance test will be of 3 hrs. 

For candidates applying to Master of Arts  By Research (MA.Res.), they will be allowed to sit for the entrance exam only if they meet the requisite GATE­ cut­off. An interview round will be held afterwards. 

The final list of selected candidates will be prepared based on the composite score of both the rounds.

Here are the steps which you can follow to successfully apply for IIT Bombay PG and PhD Admission:

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.

Note: Candidates can submit multiple applications, if he/she wishes to apply to more than one Programme by paying a separate application fee.
