New Delhi: IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IIT Kanpur have collaborated with the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh to offer a paid internship and sponsored M.Tech program for Ladakh students. Candidates can apply for these opportunities at academics.iitd.ac.in till June 30, 2022.
As per the officials, this initiative of IITs and the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh aims to offer better career opportunities to students from Ladakh who are pursuing their undergraduate education in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects.
Under this collaboration, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, and IIT Kanpur will jointly offer a short-term internship of 1.5 to 2 months duration, a long-term internship of 6 months duration, and a two-year-long sponsored M.Tech program.
The institutes will select a total of 30 undergraduate students for short-term internships and 15 students for long-term internship programs. As for the M.Tech Program, the three institutes will select 12 applicants on the basis of educational qualifications and an online interview round.
The selection of applicants for internship programs will be done on the basis of their applications for short-term internships and based on application as well as an online interview session for long-term internship opportunities.

To apply for the internship and sponsored MTech program, interested students are required to submit their online application form along with a copy of mentioned documents on the official website of the institutes at academics.iitd.ac.in.
The application fee is INR 1000 for a short-term internship and INR 5000 for the long-term internship program. After completing the internships, students will be offered a certificate of satisfactory completion.
After the admission process, the shortlisted candidates will be offered with a consolidated scholarship of INR 15000 for the short-term internship, and a scholarship of INR 50000 for the long-term internship program.
Applicants who are shortlisted for MTech Admission 2022 would be paid a scholarship of INR 25,000 per month. Students will also be provided with hostel accommodation at their respective IITs. For more details, visit https://academics.iitd.ac.in/srfp/.
