IIT Delhi PG & PhD Admission 2022: Applications Extended till April 17


New Delhi: IIT Delhi has extended the last date to submit applications for PG and PhD courses till April 17, for the academic session 2022-23.

IIT Delhi offers PG courses namely M.Tech, M.Des, M.Sc (Cognitive Science), MPP, MS and PhD programs as well. Students are advised to visit the official website of the institute to apply for the courses before the due date. The last date of application submission is now April 17, 2022.

IIT Delhi PG & PhD Admission 2022: Application Process

Step 1- Visit the official admission portal of the institute 

Step 2- Click on the ‘Apply Now’ option

Step 3-Click on the ‘New User Register Here’ option

Step 4- Register by filling up the form with required details (Email, Phone No, DOP, Name, User ID and Password)

Step 5- After registering successfully, log in with the User ID and Password

Step 6- Fill the form with personal, programme, academic, experience and documents details)

Step 7- Pay the application fees (INR 200 for General/ OBC/ EWS candidates and INR 50 for the SC/ST/PwD candidates) online (through debit/credit card, netbanking)

Step 8- Submit the form and download a copy

Step 9- Make a printed copy of the application form for further usage

IIT Delhi PG Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

M.Tech/ M.Des (R )/ MPP Programmes -6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale for General/ OBC/ EWS candidates and 5.50 CGPA for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates
-60% marks in qualifying degrees for the General/ OBC/ EWS candidates and 55% marks for the SC/ ST/ PwD candidates
-Valid GATE score
M.Des. Programme -6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale for General/ OBC/ EWS candidates and 5.50 CGPA for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates
-60% marks in qualifying degrees for the General/ OBC/ EWS candidates and 55% marks for the SC/ ST/ PwD candidates
-Valid CEED score
M.Sc Programme -5.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale for General/ OBC/ EWS candidates and 5 CGPA for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates
-55% marks in qualifying degrees for the General/ OBC/ EWS candidates and 50% marks for the SC/ ST/ PwD candidates
 
M.Sc in Cognitive Science -5.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale for General/ OBC/ EWS candidates and 5 CGPA for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates
-55% marks in qualifying degrees for the General/ OBC/ EWS candidates and 50% marks for the SC/ ST/ PwD candidates
-COGJET/ GATE/ JAM or CSIR/ JRF/ NET score
PhD Must have a minimum of 60% in their M.Tech/M.E/M.Sc/MBA degree.
Alternatively, a B.E/B.Tech with a minimum of 70% in the relevant discipline.
GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, ICAR, and DST INSPIRE fellowships are required

The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their academic performance. Then they have to appear for either a written test or personal interview to get selected for admission. 

IIT Delhi PG & PhD Admission 2022: Selection Criteria 

Students for IIT Delhi PG/PhD Admission 2022 are selected through given criterion:

M.Tech 

  • The candidate's score in GATE will determine whether or not they are admitted.
  • IIT B.Tech graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.00 are excluded from taking the GATE exam.
  • COAP will allocate seats for IIT Delhi's M.Tech programme.
  • IIT graduates will be chosen based on their performance in the personal interview.

MS

  • Admission will be granted based on a GATE score, which is a written test administered by IIT-D and followed by an interview.
  • Candidates having a GATE score of greater than or equal to 300 (200 for SC/ST/PH) and a BE/ B.Tech or M.Sc with at least 75 percent (70 percent for SC/ST/PH) in aggregate would be awarded direct admission.

M.Sc

  • Candidates are chosen based on their Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics scores in IIT JAM.
  • Candidates for Economics and Cognitive Science are chosen based on their COG JET entry score and an interview.

M.Des

  • Candidates that are eligible for the interview phase will be shortlisted.
  • To be considered for an interview, candidates must have a minimum score in CEED.

MPP

  • Students will be shortlisted in the first round based on their academic performance or qualifying degree. 
  • Shortlisted candidates will be asked to appear for a written test or an interview given by the institute in the second step.
  • Students will be chosen based on their performance in a written test or an interview conducted by the institute.

PhD: IIT Delhi accepts applicants for Ph.D programmes based on an interview.
