New Delhi: The Centre for Excellence in Research and Development of Nanoelectronic Theranostic Devices was jointly designed by IIT Guwahati and the Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology with the intention of achieving long-term goals.
The Centre for Excellence in Research and Development of Nanoelectronic and Theranostic Devices, established in 2014, has successfully met the objectives set by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati and Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology MeitY, Government of India.
India's nanotech and medical device industries are growing because to the Center of Excellence at IIT Guwahati. According to a press release from IIT Guwahati, the Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology and IIT Guwahati collaborated to design and visualise this Center of Excellence with long-term goals at the time it was being established.
The goals were to build a brand-new, 10,000 square metre Center for Nanotechnology building, develop a variety of medical devices, support numerous startups in the field of materials and nanoelectronics, and use the new facility for a number of future initiatives like INUP-I2I, SWASTHA, and other CoEs supported by funding agencies, particularly MeitY.
"It is with great joy to note that the academic members working at IIT Guwahati's Centre for Nanotechnology in conjunction with MeitY have worked diligently towards the success of creating this pioneering Centre for Excellence," IIT Guwahati Director Prof. TG Sitharam stated.
MOU to establish the Center for Advanced Research on Cancer Diagnostics
In keeping with the twin aims of the Indian government, "Atmanirbhar Bharat" and "Make in India," he remarked, "This visionary support by the MeitY has been essential in broadening the base of nanoelectronics inventions and innovations in the country." According to the press release, the institute has also inked an MoU to create a Centre for Advanced Research on Diagnostics in Cancer.
"A successful establishment of the Centre for Excellence is an epoch-making event in the North-Eastern region," said Prof. Ramgopal Rao, Pillay Chair Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering and Former Director of IIT Delhi. "Youth from the region can now utilise these world-class facilities available at their doorstep to pursue their lofty scientific and technological dreams."
