DDDP by IIT Kanpur & AIT Thailand: Highlights

The joint collaboration between the two powerful institutes and the launching of DDDP shows many potentials. Some highlights of the DDDP are mentioned below:

  • The programme offers students to seek benefits from the expertise and resources of both institutions
  • Students can choose to study any academic programme available at AIT and IIT and they will be awarded two separate doctoral degrees for one thesis
  • By studying at AIT in Thailand for 4 semesters and at IIT Roorkee or IIT Kanpur for 3 semesters, students can have the fees for 3 semesters waived by the host and partner institutions
  • Students will also receive bursaries from partner institutions that will cover their lodging and boarding costs
  • While studying, students may also partake in campus research assistantship in AIT so that some expenses can be covered

This first of its kind initiation by AIT aims at filling the gap of human resources with doctoral degrees in some Asian countries.
