IIT Kanpur Launches eMasters with Four New Programs; Check Details Here

New Delhi: IIT Kanpur has launched four new e-Masters programs in Cyber Security, Communication Systems, Power Sector Regulation, and Commodity Markets to enable seamless remote learning during the pandemic covid-19. 

The e-Masters programs of IIT Kanpur will provide an online learning environment that will deliver course content completely online and assist in upskilling working professionals with industry experience and widen their career options.

IIT Kanpur e-Masters Programs 2022: Highlights 

According to the IIT Kanpur, the four new eMasters programs can also be sponsored by corporates for their employees. The institute has planned to commence the e-Masters programs in the mid August 2022, while the admission for the programs will be conducted in July 2022. 

IITK will shortly release the details regarding the eligibility criteria, and admission process for the programs.

Speaking about the launch of the eMasters program, Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT Kanpur said that professionals are required to consistently upgrade their knowledge and keep up with the latest developments in diverse fields to be efficient, effective and remain relevant in the evolving scenarios.

Therefore, it is imperative to provide access to a complete ecosystem of knowledge, as a result of which, the institute has introduced an e-Masters degree program to address the said requirement, he said. 

The IIT Kanpur's e-Master courses 2022 is likely to assist working personnels from industry and various other backgrounds enhance their skill sets and improve their employability. In addition, it will also help people enhance their qualification by obtaining a formal degree in state of the art specialisations. 

IIT Kanpur e-Masters Program in Cyber Security 

The e-Masters in Cyber Security addresses the increasing requirement for securing information in the digital world. The demand for professionals trained in cybersecurity tools is likely to be over 1 million from defence, banking, retail, power, transportation, computing, and related fields. 

The cybersecurity program will be delivered by the strongest expert group in cybersecurity who will be drawn from the Center for Cyber Security of Critical Infrastructure, and the Technology Innovation Hub in Cyber Security. 

Therefore, the working professionals would be able to equip themselves with the required skills to be successful in roles that involve securing networks against attackers.

IIT Kanpur e-Masters Program in Communication Systems

IIT Kanpur's e-Masters in Communication Systems would provide the working professionals with a comprehensive appreciation and knowledge of modern digital communications systems. 

The communication system program will address the requirements for trained professionals considering the rapid developments in the domain of communications with 5G, 6G and Edge Computing being introduced in the country.

IIT Kanpur e-Masters Program in Power Sector Regulation, Economics and Management

The e-Masters in Power Sector Regulation, Economics and Management of IIT Kanpur would be a multi-disciplinary program offering a conceptual understanding of power sector regulation from an engineering, economic and regulatory perspective covering electricity markets, regulatory process, etc. 

The prpgram would be highly beneficial for working professionals in the field of engineering, management, finance, economics, law, and public administration.

IIT Kanpur e-Masters Program in Commodity Markets and Risk Management 

The program will tap the growing demand for commodity derivatives specialists. The increasing share of commodity derivatives trading and the country's rising role in global commodity markets requires trained experts to navigate the highs and lows to emerge successful.

With an aim to catalyse investors’ awareness and invite the big commodity giants to sponsor candidates for the eMasters course, the program in commodity markets and risk management will provide sustained training opportunities to the budding traders, commodity market specialist and experienced professionals. 

The institute has notified that the four new e-Masters program would be completely held online with well-designed and researched industry relevant course content, assignments, and projects. 

Candidates enrollinf for admissions into the eMasters program will have to complete a certain fixed number of courses in a flexible time period. 

The eMasters program will also include 2 weeks of on-campus practical training involving lab sessions, demonstrations, and lab visits that will give participants hands-on exposure to cutting-edge areas and developments in technology.
