New Delhi: IIT Kanpur's startup incubator, Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) has conducted a 10-day long outreach campaign to promote technology prototypes throughout Kanpur and National Capital Region.
As per IIT Kanpur, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has acknowledged SIIC, IIT Kanpur as the implementing agency for the design sub-component of the MSME Innovative Scheme.
Informing about this initiative, the officials shared that the outreach program intends to encourage technological advancements between prospective MSMEs, inventors, aspiring business owners and young people who are looking to start their businesses.
The IIT Kanpur Design Awareness Program 2023 saw participation from over 250 MSMEs, comprising aspiring innovators, early-stage MSMEs, and experienced firms from a variety of industrial hubs and MSME groups.
The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre of IIT Kanpur is working to eliminate the disparity and support the development of the MSME economy through several programs and initiatives.
In addition to this, the government is undertaking various measures to support the MSME sector such as the establishment of organisations and the creation of a blueprint to overcome obstacles and promote growth.
The Ministry of MSME has recognised five businesses under the program for the financial year 2020–2022, which are Kanpur Flowercycling Pvt. Ltd. (KFPL) (Phool. Co), Jalconserve Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Primary Healthtech Pvt. Ltd, Biocraft Innovation Pvt. Ltd and Cultech Wave Pvt.
These firms have been nominated under the design component of the MSME Innovation Program. Furthermore, the Ministry of MSME and IIT Kanpur extended their support to nine micro-enterprises to execute pioneering design projects.
