IIT Kharagpur releases PGDBA 2022 Notification; IIT-KGP, IIMC, ISC Entrance Exam to be Held on March 27

IIT, Kharagpur, has released the official notification for the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) 2022. 

The prestigious IIT Kharagpur, IIM Calcutta, and ISI are the three most sought-after institutions which are jointly offering the PGDBA 2022 course. 

Candidates interested in pursuing the IIT KGP PGDBA 2022 course must pass the entrance exam which is scheduled to be held on March 27, 2022. 

IIT Kharagpur's PGDBA is a two year full time residential diploma programme, jointly offered by IIM-C and ISI aims to create business analytics professionals employable by leading Indian and foreign firms.

IIT Kharagpur has released the PGDBA 2022 notification on its official website @pdgba.iitkgp.ac.in. The institute has notified that the online application process for PGDBA 2022 will commence shortly. 

However, the interested candidates can apply for the entrance exam and submit the application form on or before February 18, 2022. 

Since the institute has notified the deadline to submit the application, there is a high probability that the application process may commence within this week or in the subsequent weeks in January 2022. 

PGDBA 2022: Course Fee 

The fee structure for the 2-year PGDBA programme for the academic year 2022-24 batch is INR 24 lakhs, which needs to be paid in four equal installments at the time of registration for each semester. 

Late payment of fees will incur penalties as per the policy of each Institute. The fees will cover entire tuition, on-campus lodging, books, study materials, examination materials, and laboratory charges, among others. 

However, the candidates must note that the programme fee will not cover caution money, food related expenses, and any travel expenses that the students may incur in Semester 4 when they visit any industrial location. 

PGDBA 2022: Selection Process 

The IIT Kharagpur admission for the PGDBA 2022 course will be done based on the two stages of selection process namely, the computer-based test and a personal interview process (for shortlisted candidates). 

As a result, the first stage, i.e, the computer-based entrance exam is. scheduled to be conducted on March 27, 2022, for which the results will most likely be announced in April 2022. 

The personal interview will be conducted for shortlisted candidates in May 2022. The exact interview date has not yet been mentioned, which will be announced later. 

PGDBA 2022: Entrance Exam Pattern

The selection process consists of two stages, however, the final shortlisting of the candidates will be done based on the following criteria, 

• PGDBA-2022 entrance exam score (45 marks)
• Personal interview (PI) (40 marks), 
• Points for Class XII marks (08 marks)
• Work experience (07 marks)

Based on a scale of 1-100, Candidates will be scored and those who score more than the cut-off will be granted admission to this postgraduate diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) course.

The notification has mentioned certain reservation criteria applicable for certain categories such as SC, ST, NC-OBC as well as persons with disabilities. These criteria will be in tandem with the norms issued by the Indian government. 

However, if the candidate belongs to NC-OBC and EWS, a certificate issued on or after April 01, 2021, which shall be uploaded during the application process to claim reservation. 

According to the IIT Kharagpur notification, the dates of entrance exam and interview are tentative and are subject to change considering the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation. 

It is hoped that the situation of the country stabilizes by February 2022 post which, there would not be any need to postpone the exam. However, little postponement can be predicted under the prevailing circumstances.
