New Delhi: IIT-Madras and IIT-Kharagpur are all set to offer free online learning courses for aspiring students in quantum computing and cloud computing.
IIT Madras is offering the four-week-long and free online course in association with IBM Research and IBM Systems.
The online course is titled “Introduction to Quantum Computing: Quantum Algorithms and Qiskit”, which will introduce students to the basics of quantum computation, and discuss the quantum circuit model of computation and basic quantum algorithms.
Similarly, a 12-week-long free online course is offered by IIT Kharagpur, on cloud computing, which will provide an introduction to the different aspects of cloud computing - fundamentals, management issues, security challenges and future research trends.

IIT Madras Quantum Computing Course Details
The four-week quantum computing course is open to both UG and PG level students, and will be taught by the researchers and faculty from computer science and physics, mathematics and chemistry departments.
Students will be provided hands-on experience using Qiskit - a pythonic way of programming and the IBM Circuit Composer.
IIT Kharagpur's Cloud Computing Course 2022
The cloud computing course at IIT Kharagpur is open to both UG and PG level students, and researchers. However, students with a basic understanding of computer architecture and organisation, and networking will be highly preferred.
Students willing to polish their skills in computer science engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical engineering, systems and programming are eligible to opt for this course.
Free Online Courses 2022: How to Apply?
Interested candidates can enrol for the Quantum Computing Course and Cloud Computing Course by visiting the official website and sign in using Google, Facebook, Microsoft or SWAYAM accounts.
Students intending to get a certificate after completing the course can register and write a proctored exam at any of the centres. However, they will have to pay a certification exam fee of Rs 1,000 after filling in the online registration form. The certificates will be graded as per the assignment and exam scores.
The certificates will be granted to the participants on the basis of their collective scores from assignments and the exam. It should be noted that only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched to the students.
