IIT Madras, Ansys to augment NPTEL Courses

New Delhi: Ansys, a pioneer in engineering simulation software, and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) have teamed up to create a programme through NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) that focuses on upcoming technologies including electrification, 5G, autonomous vehicles, drones, and healthcare, among others.

According to IIT Madras, Ansys' CSR support makes sure that hundreds of students from poor backgrounds, particularly female candidates, are exempt from paying the certification cost, improving their employability.

The cost of certification for eligible students will be halved thanks to financing from Ansys. Ansys will also make its speakers accessible for the NPTEL-hosted public lectures series on relevant topics, and they will be able to use Ansys simulation for that. Moreover, Ansys will provide NPTEL with a practical session on fundamental engineering simulations.
A collaborative project of the IITs and IISc, Bangalore, is NPTEL. In India, it collaborates closely with more than 5,000 institutions and universities in fields like engineering, the arts, commerce, science, and management.

Several college students and staff members take these certification tests to increase their employability and upskill in the desired field. Professor Ramkrishna Pasumarthy, NPTEL Coordinator at IIT Madras, thanked Ansys for their contribution and stated, "NPTEL is the world's largest online repository of programmes in the field of engineering, fundamental sciences, selected humanities, and management courses.

The certification examinations are highly desired since they increase employability. Our collaboration with Ansys will provide our students more exposure to cutting-edge technological fields.
