IIT Madras Placement 2022: 25 Students Receive Packages Over INR 1 Crore; Read Details Here


New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras is organising its campus placement drive for the 2022-23 academic year, in which a total of 25 students have received placement packages of more than INR 1 crore from top recruiters. 

As per IIT Madras, this year 445 students were offered with job offers on the campus placement by the end of session 1.1. With the start of the 2022-23 placement session, the institute has already recorded the highest-ever salary package of INR I Crore. 

Informing about the IIT Madras Placement 2022 data, the officials stated the placement offer received for this session is 10 per cent higher than last year’s highest of 407. The institute is still expecting to receive more offers as the placement session is still ongoing. 

Offers made to students were offered by top recruiters of IIT Madras including Texas Instruments (14 offers), Bajaj Auto Ltd. & Chetak Tech. Ltd. (10 offers), Qualcomm (8 offers), J P Morgan Chase & Co (9 offers) and.Proctor & Gamble (7 offers). 

In addition to this, 6 offers were made by Morgan Stanley, 6 by Graviton, 5 by McKinsey & Company and 2 by Cohesity. A total of 168 offers were made by 6 companies in various fields. 

Participating students were selected for the position of Software Development Engineering, Data Science, Quant, Core Engineer, UX Designer, VLSI, Vehicle Engineering, Analyst, and Product Designer job profiles, among others. 

Some of the main recruiters were Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Google, Uber, Qualcomm, C-DOT, Enphase Energy, Oracle, Nutanix, Thoughtspot MTS-2, Squarepoint SDE/Quant, American Express, JP Morgan Chase, Bajaj, Rippling, Tibra, Cohesity, and Sprinklr Platform + Product. 

The 2022 placement drive concluded with 1,491 offers from more than 480 companies. The highest package offered to UG students was Rs 2.14 crore per annum and for MTech, it was Rs 46.08 lakh per annum.

The registered number of students in IIT Madras’ CSE department’s placements has gone up from 108 to 125 in 2018-19, however, the number of offers decreased from 93 to 90. The average salary, too, has gone down from 39.02 lakh per annum to 29.28 lakh per annum.

The number of registered students and placement offers increased to 116 and 91 in 2019-20, the number of placement offers once again dipped to 84 in 2020-21 placement season. The average salary also increased to 30.1 lakh per annum in 2019-20 and then to 38.02 in 2020-21 session.
