IIT Madras to Offer Summer Fellowship Program for Universities and Non-IIT Students

 New Delhi : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, an Institution of National Importance,has announced the Summer Fellowship Program 2023. The Summer Fellowship Program is a two month stipend program.

Via a goal-oriented summer mini-project conducted at the IIT Madras, aims to increase young Engineering, Management, Sciences, and Humanities students' knowledge and interest in high-quality academic research.

According to Professor V Jagadeesh Kumar, who is in charge of academic courses, "this is a chance for students to collaborate with prominent academics on challenges that are current and at the forefront of technology."

Candidates currently enrolled in the third year of a BE/ BTech or a BSc (Engg) program, the third or fourth year of an integrated ME/ MTech program, or the first year of a ME/ MTech/ MSc/ MA or a MBA program are invited to apply. 

Candidates should illustrate their academic performance and achievements, such as presentations at seminars, developments implemented, and layout contests [IIT students are not eligible to apply].

The project may begin between May 22, 2023, and July 21, 2023. (The schedule is adaptable to accommodate student needs.)

The program shall be participated by Engineering Departments(Engineered Mechanics, Bio-Technology, Chemical Technology, Construction, Information Technology, Engineering Design, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering,Mechanical Technology, Materials & Metallurgical Engineering, Ocean Technology).

Science Department(Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics),Humanities & Social Sciences, and students from Management Studies will also be participating. A monthly stipend of Rs.6,000/- for a maximum of two months would be provided.

IIT Madras Summer Fellowship Programme: Overview

The registration for the Summer Fellowship Programme commences on February 18, 2023. The deadline for online submissions is March 31, 2023, till 5 PM. The program commences on May 22, 2023 and will last upto July 21, 2023.

Step 1: Visit the IIT Madras SFP 2023 at 

Step 2: Create Log In credentials by signing up.

Step 3: Fill up the form, enter required details and upload the documents.

Step 4: Submit the application on or before March 31, 2023 to complete the IIT Madras SFP application program.
