IIT Mandi Catalyst Seeks Applications for Start-up Exploration Programme; Apply till April 15

New Delhi: IIT Mandi Catalyst has invited applications from start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs for the next batch of the Start-up Exploration Programme, which begins in April 2022. Aspiring entrepreneurs and interested start-ups can submit the online application form till April 15, 2022. 

The primary aim of the startup exploration programme of IIT Mandi is to assist and support technology-based ideas/ start-ups achieve concept validation and prove market potential.

IIT Mandi Start-up Exploration Programme: Highlights 

The institute statement revealed that this is the twelfth batch of the Catalyst's Start-up Exploration Programme.

Speaking about the exploration course, Dr. Puran Singh, Faculty In-charge, IIT Mandi Catalyst, said that this year, the institute's Catalyst has the mandate to support as many as 100 startups. 

The startups in the initial stages looking for idea validation and prototype development can apply for the startup exploration program. 

As per the statement, the Catalyst has supported over 227 startups in the exploration program and out of which 125 startups have been funded under various funding schemes available with the Catalyst within a duration of last 5 years. 

The incubator has seed funding of upto INR 50 lakhs, prototyping funding of up to INR 10 lakh, and an entrepreneur-in-residence programme, with monthly assistance of INR 30,000 under various central and state government-funding schemes.

The institute said that the ideas regarding human-computer interaction, building for the Himalayas, environment and sustainability will be highly preferred.

IIT Mandi Start-up Exploration Programme: Course Details 

The exploration program will be held online and will offer the start-ups, 

• A structured training programme during which the startups will set their goals to achieve within the course duration. 
• Industry Experts and Mentors will conduct group mentoring sessions/workshops to help and support start-ups to understand the basics of building a business. 
• The workshops will cover the aspects ranging from business strategy to legal and financial issues
• Monthly checkpoint meetings will be organized to assess progress and identify areas where support is required. 
• One-on-one mentoring sessions . 
• Upon the successful completion of the orome, the startups will get access to various funding schemes.

IIT Mandi Start-up Exploration Programme: Eligibility 

The exploration program is best suited to the Indian nationals with a technology-based innovative start-up idea relating to any sector/focus area.

IIT Mandi Start-up Exploration Programme: Selection Process 

The selection of the startups will be a multi-stage process, including the online application, screening, pitching to a selection panel, and final discussion.
