IIT Mandi Collaborates with NSDC to Offer Digital Courses in Emerging Technologies

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has recently collaborated with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to introduce various digital learning courses in the field of emerging technologies.

As per IIT Mandi, the collaboration with NSDC, the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India is an initiative to expand the quality of education, learning, and skilling for students.

Under this collaboration, both parties will jointly offer on-demand digital courses to youth and working professionals. The NSDC and IIT Madras program will aim to offer immersive hands-on learning opportunities and develop an entrepreneurial spirit among the Indian youth.

Referring to the initiative, IIT Mandi officials said, “NSDC along with IIT Mandi will design and conceptualize the program in line with the training requirements of students and the market".

“Additionally, the NSDC will also help IIT Mandi in setting up Centres of Excellence (CoE). The center will help Indian youth towards realizing the larger vision of Atmanirbhar India, as well as capacity building of teachers, trainers, and grassroots leaders,” the officials further added.

Adding to the statement, he further informed that IIT Madras and NSDC will develop new models of training methodology that will make learning opportunities more accessible to all interested participants.

Expressing his gratitude, IIT Mandi Director Laxmidhar Behera stated that the collaboration will offer high-end skills to working professionals and students of the institute. The joint initiative will provide an opportunity for students to get hands-on experience in the latest technologies.

Adding to the statement, Ved Mani Tiwari, Chief Operating Officer, and Officiating CEO, NSDC said, “Our partnership with IIT Mandi is an important step to take forward the commitment of keeping India’s young minds relevant in the current business environment".

"IIT Mandi has established itself as a leading institute in science and technology education and, the dynamic curriculum that will be designed and conceptualized under the program, will prepare India’s talent for the digital future,” he added.

As per the officials, the MoU between IIT Mandi and NSDC was signed in the presence of IIT Mandi Director Mr. Laxmidhar Behera and Mr. Ved Mani Tiwari, Chief Operating Officer and Officiating CEO of NSDC in New Delhi on May 19, 2022.
