IIT Mandi Introduces 5 New Skill-Development Programs via Kaushal Vikas Nigam Scheme

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi, via its Center for Continuing Education (CCE), and with the support of Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN), is establishing five short courses aimed at certain engineering fields.

IIT Mandi stated in a statement that the one-month short courses are designed to improve the employability of Himachali youth by exposing them to real-world engineering difficulties. Already, free enrollment for the classes has begun. IIT Mandi will provide complimentary meals, housing, and educational materials.

"The course is open to motivated IT, diploma engineers, engineering students, practising, working engineers, postgraduates and PhD level students, teachers, and faculty members of Himachal Pradesh's technical institutions who have a strong desire to do well in scientific and engineering research endeavours," it said.

Under the HPKVN initiative, the CCE IIT Mandi will offer five new courses. Applicants can submit their applications on the IIT Mandi website, iitmandi.ac.in.

Practical training in Embedded Systems
Predictive Model Control for Industrial Systems
Practical Training in Computational Fluid Dynamics
Finite Element Modelling for Engineering
Product Design and Production

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), several courses will aid in the development of skills for automation and other jobs, with guidance and support from IIT Mandi professors and HPKVN.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation from the Centre for Continuing Education at IIT Mandi upon satisfactory completion of the course.

Head of Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) Tushar Jain stated, "Seeing the accomplishment of the first course on School Camp on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (PRAYAS 1.0), we are introducing five new courses in partnership with HPKVN, Shimla to further strengthen the abilities of Himachali Youth.”

He further stated,”These courses focus on certain engineering disciplines and are designed to prepare the young brains of Himachal Pradesh for the present employment market under the guidance of professionals at IIT Mandi.”

In addition, he stated, "This is the first time IIT Mandi has partnered with HPKVN to teach engineering skills for the state's benefit. Through these hands-on courses, students will get the opportunity to stay on the IIT Mandi campus, receive training in a variety of laboratories, and receive instruction from seasoned instructors."
