IIT Mandi M.Tech Admission 2022 Open till April 15, Check Registration Link

New Delhi: IIT M.Tech Admission 2022 has begun today for the semester commencing from August, this year. Interested students can apply till April 15, 2022.

As per IIT Mandi, foreign nationals with degrees from Indian universities are also eligible for admission. They will be treated on par with Indian Students. Foreign nationals with foreign degrees must have the minimum educational qualifications equivalent to Indian degrees for relevant disciplines.

IIT Mandi, School of Engineering offers M.Tech in various specialisations, which are as follows:

• M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering with Specialisation in Energy Systems
• M. Tech in Fluid and Thermal Engineering 
• M. Tech in Materials and Energy Engineering 
• M.Tech Structural Engineering 

IIT Mandi M.Tech Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Before registering for IIT Mandi Admissions 2022, applicants need to meet the following criteria: 

• Candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks in graduation or a CGPA of 6.75% or equivalent. 
• Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s degree in science. They should also have qualified and have a valid score in GATE. 
• Applicants who have a B.tech degree from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 are not required to submit GATE scores.

Note: Candidates who are appearing for the final examination of their B.tech program and have a valid GATE 2022 score can also apply for admission.

IIT Mandi Admission 2022: Selection Process

Admissions will mainly be on the basis of COAP. However, the institute can also invite applicants at their discretion, for a written test and/or an interview/counselling or a combination of all three.

Final shortlisting will be conducted on the basis of UG grades, GATE scores and performance in the qualifying examination. 

IIT Mandi M.Tech Admission 2022: How to Apply?

Candidates should go through the steps mentioned below before applying for M.Tech at IIT Mandi - 

Step 1: Before beginning the application procedure, candidates should register themselves at COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal). This is because the COAP registration number is mandatory for filling out the application form.

Step 2: Applicants should visit the official website of IIT, Mandi and click on the admissions notice for M.tech

Step 3: A PDF file will be displayed on the screen. Scroll down to the Application procedure section and click on the link to the admissions portal.

Step 4: Sign up on the portal to generate login credentials and access the online form.

Step 5: Fill in the form with all necessary details and pay the application fee (Rs 200/- for General/OBC/EWS/Transgender/Foreign Nationals and Rs 100 for Women/SC/ST/PD).

Note: Candidates need to submit a separate application form and fee for each specialisation. While filling in the form, candidates should keep in mind that only first preference will be taken into consideration during shortlisting the application. Hence they must enter their preferences only after careful consideration on the OAS Application portal.
