IIT Mandi is conducting IIT PhD Admission 2021 for PhD in the Civil, Mechanical and Material Engineering School of Engineering. Read the article to know details about the admission procedure.
Interested candidates can apply online for PhD and MS in Civil, Mechanical and Materials Engineering in IIT Mandi till November 08, 2020 at the official website. The programmes will begin in February 2021. Those who are selected to do their PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi will be informed of the same via e-mail.

Who can Apply for IIT Mandi PhD Admission 2021?
Notifications issued on the IIT Mandi website indicate that there are PhD vacancies available at the School of Civil, Mechanical and Materials Engineering. The eligibility criteria required to apply to PhD positions are as follows:
PhD in Mechanical engineering: BTech in mechanical engineering, aerospace or manufacturing engineering and MTech in machine design, applied mechanics, biomedical engineering or related fields. Candidates must be GATE qualified in the related field at least once in their academic career. In addition, according to the notification, candidates from certain other streams of mechanical engineering may apply for PhD.
PhD in Civil Engineering: BTech in civil, mechanical or aerospace engineering and MTech in structural engineering, mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering or related fields. Candidates must be GATE qualified in the related field at least once in their academic career. In addition, according to the notification, candidates from certain other civil engineering sectors may apply for PhD.
PhD in Materials Engineering: BTech in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering or related fields and M.Tech in Mechanical, Material Engineering or related fields. Candidates must have GATE or NET qualified in a related field at least once in their academic career. Candidates from a number of other streams may also apply for PhD, according to the notification.

- Candidates with B.Tech or equivalent degree and would like to apply for PhD program are advised to fill the online application form (see PhD regulations 2.1.1 (c) for eligibility and more details; click here) and should contact Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering, IIT Mandi at himanshu@iitmandi.ac.in with the relevant documents.
Note: Candidates without specialization in the M. Tech should mention the subjects taken by them in the subjects column of the qualifications. Alternatively, they can specify the specialization close to their course of study or project. They should also mention the M. Tech thesis title in the additional information column. Candidates, who do not mention the subject names, may not be shortlisted for written test/interview even they fulfil the shortlisting criterion. There may not be any communication in this regard.
