New Delhi: IIT Mandi in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN is organising a summer camp on Robotics and AI in July for Himachal Pradesh 11th and 12th-grade students.
Registration will be done through the respective schools of the students and will be open till the 15th of April 2022. To select students for the summer camp, an entrance exam will be conducted.
Dr Tushar Jain, Head, CCE, IIT Mandi, said, “The CCE at the IIT Mandi is delighted to announce the summer camp for school students. They will get the opportunity to learn from experienced mentors. This is an amazing opportunity for them to innovate and develop products that will enable them to enhance lifestyle using technology.”
“In today's environment, AI and the smartness in systems have become an integral part of the products generally purchased from the market and used in daily life. Without that, everything looks to be outdated. IIT Mandi is attempting to make our society conversant by preparing the young generation in this direction for contributing to nation-building as their long-term goals,” Dr Tushar Jain added.
The camp will provide students with a full-fledged opportunity to understand Robotics and AI, an ever-growing subject that will be taught through hands-on experimentation. One hundred students will get the opportunity to study the foundations and turn their ideas into real-life projects.
On May 1, 2022, an entrance exam based on 10+2 level math, physics, and general ability will be held to select 100 students, with results announced in the final week of May.
Those selected will be invited to attend a comprehensive training session on the IIT Mandi campus. Students will explore AI ideas and their application to various fields like healthcare and agriculture during the camp.
The summer camp will be held in two stages. In the first stage, there will be a mentorship-based programme run by faculty and students. Students will be able to create innovative projects on the second level.
IIT Mandi Summer Camp is free of charge. Hands-on kits will be offered to the students by the institute. Upon completion of the training programme, all participants will get certificates. In addition, a competition will be held to choose the best three projects.
