Institute of Rural Management Anand Signs MoU with Brooke India


Brooke India (BI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) for a knowledge partnership to help the underprivileged who own equine stock (horses and mules).

The MoU was signed by Professor Hitesh V Bhatt, the Director of IRMA and Brig JS Dharamdheeran (Retd), CEO and Country Director of BI on 26 August.

Both BI and IRMA have common goals. The collaboration should provide an opportunity for both the organizations to capitalize on their strengths and work in tandem for rural development, community empowerment and livelihood enhancement of those who are marginalized among the equine (horses, mules and donkeys)-owning community.

Moreover, both organizations will strive to find areas of common interest and take on mutually beneficial research projects and internship programmes in areas where BI operates.

Mr. Ratnesh Rao, the Head of Programme, Brooke India, said, “BI is always keen to forge a valuable partnership with like-minded organisations, as they bring in a lot of value addition with their unique attributes, experience, and expertise which are mutually beneficial to our common goals. 

“I am sure this partnership with IRMA will grow in the coming days and benefit the underprivileged in the country.”

BI has been working on the upliftment of the marginalized equine-owning communities in 11 states, and union territories of India. They include Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

IRMA is a leading institute of rural management in India.
