New Delhi: Jadavpur University has begun the application process for the SYLFF fellowship programme in Social Science and Humanities for the academic session 2023-24. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @www.jaduniv.edu.in, by December 9, 2022.
Jadavpur University (JU) has invited applications for the suitable candidates who will be considered for the award of SYLFF-JU Fellowship (The Ryochi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund). Candidates interested can submit their applications between November 7 and December 9, 2022.

The SYLLF is a fellowship programme funded by the Nippon foundation. The aim of this programme is to assist the students pursuing MA and MPhil and are intending to enroll for PhD programmes in the Faculty of Arts, JU.

The SYLLF-JU fellowship is intended to financially assist suitable young researchers of the social sciences and humanities with leadership potential. Usually one fellowship for MA, M.Phil and Ph+D level is awarded every year. Fellowship for only PhD level will be awarded if a suitable candidate is found for this academic session 2023-24.
JU SYLLF Fellowship 2023: Eligibility Criteria
For three year Ph. D level fellowship (all inclusive of US57,200+7,800+8,400) applicants must:
- be willing to take registration under appropriate faculty of the university.
- Must hold a Master's degree from any faculty or interdisciplinary school of any recognized University.
- Must have cleared the Ph.D. admission test as well as the interview for any department/school suitable to the proposed area of research, under the Faculty of Arts, and the School of Women's Studies, Cognitive Science, Languages and Linguistics, International Relations and Strategic Studies, Cultural Text and Records, Media and Communication and Culture under Faculty of 1511/1 of Jadavpur University, before November 15, 2022
JU SYLLF Fellowship 2023: Orientation
The orientation for writing a good research proposal under the SYLFF-JU programme will be held at JU campus on November 15, 2022 at Vivekananda Hall Subarna Jayanti building from 2 p.m. Participation in this orientation workshop is open to all students.
The Fellowship will be paid monthly in Indian rupees; the value determined by the exchange rate prevailing as on the date of payment.
JU SYLLF Fellowship 2023: How to Apply?
Step 1: Visit the official application portal of JU @jusyllfprogram.org.in.
Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.
Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.
Step 4: Download a hardcopy of the application form and submit it by accompanying the Demand drafts, which need to be drawn in favour of "JU-SYLFF-ADMIN A/C" payable in. Kolkata.
Step 5: Completed hard copy application form must be sent to Prof. Shibashis Chatterjee, SYLFF Project Director, Department of International Relations, JU; Kolkata- 700032 latest by January 6, 2023.
