New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University has decided to conduct the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for 8 selected courses only. For the remaining courses, the admission process will remain the same. The decision was taken during a meeting by the concerned committee. The meeting took place on March 26, 2022.
Each year JMI conducts an entrance exam for admission. Those who qualify, have to appear for the counselling process.
“It has been decided in a meeting attended by the top officials of the university that admissions for selected undergraduate courses will be done through CUET. The university has communicated to the University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Testing Agency (NTA) about the same,” as stated by the university.
JMI has instructed the candidates seeking admission to the institute to follow the official website and fill up both the JMI and CUET forms.
JMI Admission 2022 to 8 Courses Via CUET:
JMI will only conduct CUET for the following 8 UG level courses. Interested candidates can take a note of the course and eligibility criteria:

BA (Hons) Economics | Class 12 Exam passed from a recognised board with at least 50% marks in aggregate |
BSc Biotechnology | Class 12 Exam passed from a recognised board with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics subjects) |
BVoc | -Students who have already acquired NSQF certification level 4 in the industry sector belonging to Solar Energy -Students who have already acquired NSQF certification level 4 but like to change their area and pursue vocational courses in Solar Energy -Students who have passed Class 12 without prior vocational training. They should have secured 50% and should have studied physics and mathematics |
As earlier, JMI will admit candidates in BTech programmes on the basis of JEE score and in BDS programme on the basis of NEET score.
The UGC and NTA have released the CUET notification on March 26, 2022 on their official websites. The NTA will conduct CUET 2022 for the 45 central universities. The universities, however, will have the option to choose the admission process, as informed by the UGC.

M Jagadesh Kumar, the UGC Chairman stated on Sunday, March 27, 2022, that the central universities can work on their minimum eligibility criteria and the state universities, private and deemed-to-be universities can also use CUET scores for admission to the UG, PG courses.
