As per the recent reports of the state of Kerala, it has brought a COVID-19 treatment centre into existence.
The newly set up treatment centre is located at Calicut University in Malappuram and has more than 1000 beds.
Malappuram District Collector K Gopalakrishnan has said that the patients who have been tested positive but don’t carry any symptoms with them will be treated here.
The first-line treatment centre comprises around 1300 beds arranged in the University Women’s Hostel. Moreover, it offers full-time service with a team of 10 doctors, 50 nurses and 50 trauma care volunteers.
Regarding the facilities, the newly set up treatment centre provides free meals and university-assisted internet facility and other recreational activities to overcome stress.
Furthermore, the officials have also provided a facility for the staff to stay in order to avoid further spread of the virus.
The state of Kerala has 10,000+ confirmed cases of Coronavirus so far and is taking measures to control the spread of infection.
