Lovely Professional University (LPU) has collaborated with Google Cloud India to offer a new course, B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) Cloud Computing. The course will include aspects of big data, machine learning and infrastructure of Google Cloud.
The course curriculum has been jointly designed by LPU and Google Cloud India for students with no background or experience in cloud computing. This B.Tech Computer Science Engineering will be of 4 years duration.
This course will feature a specialisation in Google Cloud to equip the students with skills required for a career in a cloud-first modern workplace.
According to the LPU press release, Cloud computing is increasingly becoming a most sought-after career choice in the Information Technology field as many companies are adopting cloud computing to assist in overcoming technology challenges and achieving their business goals.
Further, the statement mentioned that with a thorough understanding of cloud architecture and google cloud, students will be able to design, develop, and manage robust, scalable, and dynamic solutions to drive business goals.

The LPU release mentions that the course will feature cutting-edge cloud-enabled technologies on Google Cloud’s flexible infrastructure and platform services. It will derive insights from data using the analysis and visualisation tools on Google Cloud.
The B.Tech course curriculum will provide students with an introduction to cloud technology through the following,
- Concepts
- Hands-on labs
- Assessments and certifications on topics ranging from Cloud basics
- Big Data
- Machine learning
- Google Cloud’s flexible infrastructure and platform services
- Deriving insights from data using the analysis and visualisation tools on Google Cloud
- Designing, developing, and deploying applications that seamlessly integrate components from the Google Cloud ecosystem.
The course will be taught by the Google Certified Trainers. With the help of Google Cloud, students will receive hands-on experience. They will get access to more than 700 hands-on labs, skill badges, role-based courses, and certification resources featuring Google’s most in-demand training.
The training will include content such as How Google Does Machine Learning, Getting Started with Google Kubernetes Engine, Preparing for the Professional Cloud Architect Certification Exam, and more.
The B.Tech course will prepare students with the real-world experience and exercises, empowering them with skills that will be valuable for students to advance their career with certifications and hard skills to back them up, adds the LPU statement.
