The Maharashtra Govt has announced the extension of the deadline to register for the First-Year Junior College (FYJC) admission 2021 till October 21, 2021.
The state education minister, Varsha Gaikwad announced the extension of the FYJC Admissions 2021, which will be done based on a first come first serve (FCFS) till tomorrow through a social media post.
In her tweet, she congratulated all the students who got admission under the centralised admission process (CAP) and announced the extension of ongoing FYJC admission 2021.
Earlier, the FYJC admission process was scheduled to be closed on October 14, however, the deadline was extended till tomorrow, October 21 and candidates who couldn’t participate can now register within the prescribed date.
The first round of FYJC admissions for the first-come first-serve basis (FCFS) was conducted for a total of 2,34,135 vacant seats.
Speaking about the extension of the deadline of the FYJC Admissions, Dattatray Jagtap, the director of secondary and higher secondary education department, said that there are several students who are willing to cancel their admissions or those who haven't yet completed their admission process due to various reasons.
As a result, it was decided to extend the deadline for the FYJC admission process 2021 till October 21. Further, students who have passed under the ATKT category with one subject remaining are also eligible to apply for admissions, he said.
Maharashtra FYJC admission 2021 (FCFS): Eligibility criteria
All the interested candidates can go through the following eligibility criteria to register for the Maharashtra FYJC Admission 2021.
- Candidates who did not participate for admission in any college or institute, or in any round of FYJC admission conducted so far are eligible
- Candidates who have cancelled their FYJC admission or rejected the seat allotment can also participate
- Candidates who have passed Class 10 and/or supplementary exam/improvement exam
- Candidates who have got ATKT in the Maharashtra class 10 or SSC examination are also eligible to apply for admissions.
- Based on the merit marks, candidates can apply in the respective category of FCFS rounds.
- Candidates whose application form part 1 has been verified are also eligible for FCFS FYJC admission
Earlier, the Maharashtra FYJC Admission 2021 process was conducted based on the merit lists between September 28 and October 14. Over 3 lakh students had participated in the centralised online admission process to FYJC.
According to the data, around 3,00,015 seats have been filled in nearly 1,496 colleges across the state. Meanwhile, Gaikwad had earlier declared that the colleges have sufficient seats and no students would remain without a college.
