New Delhi: The Mathematics paper for the current Maharashtra Class 12 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam was leaked on social media about 30 minutes before the exam's scheduled start time.
While the incident is being thoroughly investigated by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). It is reported that the incident took place at one of the exam centres in Sindkhed Raja city, Buldhana district, at around 10.30 AM on Friday.
Regarding the suspected paper leak, a complaint has been made at the SakharKherda police station in Sindkhed Raja. The state board has mandated that a complaint be filed in this respect even in Pune. While the precise test centre in Sindkhed Raja from which the paper leak originated is yet unknown, the authorities are looking into the incident.
Sharad Gosawi, Chairman, of the state board, said that they have received information about the paper manipulation case of the Maha Class 12 test at Sindkhed Raja in Buldhana district. The concerned authorities have been informed to submit a thorough report to the board. While individuals found guilty in the document leak case will face the proper legal repercussions.
Mobile phones are not permitted at exam centres, so it is being questioned how the Mathematics exam was leaked on social media. On Friday, the legislative assembly heard a similar discussion on the paper leak from opposition leader Ajit Pawar.
There have previously been allegations that teachers at Mahalingeshwar Secondary and Higher Secondary School leaked English exam questions and gave copies to the students.
While the state board and district officials are waging a "copy-free" campaign to ensure the HSC and SSC exams are copy-free, instances of cheating are being routinely reported from various exam centres throughout the state. Despite the increased attention at exam centres, questions are now being raised as to how this type of cheating is still occurring.
Meanwhile, the MSBSHSE will tentatively declare the results of Maharashtra HSC 2023 in May 2023, on the official website of the board- mahresult.nic.in.
The Students who appeared for the Maharashtra HSC 2023 exams will have to enter their roll number and mother’s first name to check results. Also, students will be able to verify their results utilising the board's SMS service.
