MAHE-Eco Aster Collaborative Research Unit to be the Second in Asia Pacific

September 26, 2020: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Esco Aster, Singapore, a medical technology manufacturer will collaborate to establish a research unit at Manipal campus of MAHE.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education will carry out the research and development related activities in the biotherapeutics area. The Lt. General Dr. Venkatesh M.D, Vice-Chancellor of MAHE, said that the university will provide the necessary facilities and resources to carry out the research.

MAHE University Collaboration Highlights

MAHE and Esco Aster collaboration’s one of the main focuses is to build a sustainable relationship with corporates to advertise corporate affiliate research programs. During the collaboration, a research unit will be established on the MAHE campus.

Esco Aster Collaboration to Boost Research Projects at MAHE 

Esco Aster, a Contract Development, and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) based in Singapore will continue more collaboration in the future. The company will develop more collaborations in Asia Pacific regions in the coming year to work on booming cell and gene therapy. 

Ecso Aster's main focus is on offering the vaccine, bio cell, and gene therapy development manufacturing services by using its proprietary Adherent Tide Motion Platform. Earlier the first collaborative unit "Center of Excellence (CEO) of Esco Aster was set up globally with the Bioprocessing Technology Institute of Singapore.

MAHE's director, and professor of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Dr. Raviraja N S said " I am hopeful that MAHE-Esco Aster partnership will be mutually rewarding and will lead to many more corporate research units to be established at MAHE".

The CEO of Esco Aster, Xiangliang Lin said, "We look forward to harnessing the skilled manpower and mentor pool available at MAHE to build our pipeline products and services to our clients. We envision showcasing this research unit to our potential clients and collaborators and also utilizing it as a training center".

Dr. Narayana Sabhahit, Registrar MAHE stated that the university will recruit skilled and professional manpower to the research unit to carry out research projects.
