New Delhi: First-year students from MICA, Ahmedabad's top strategic marketing and communications institution, will assist the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) with their strategic approach and digital marketing to make a "significant influence in the lives of citizens."
As part of Its MICA's Impact Management Projects for All Cities Transformation (MI IMPACT) immersion course, the institution has collaborated with the AMC on five projects.
Five groups of four students will participate in the project, including a perspective study of AMC's social media presence, a marketing strategy for SVP Hospital, and an adequate analysis of innovative city projects.
Students are also asked to analyze the websites and mobile applications of the top 20 global cities and form a statement of purpose for Ahmedabad city's ward-level volunteering activities.
With its 2019 launch, MI IMPACT seeks to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities where they can work on issues from the real world while also assisting organizations with launch strategy, branding, and digital marketing.
The co-chairs of the MI IMPACT immersion program at MICA, Professors Rasananda Panda and KV Ramani stated that interacting with senior officials and mentors will give the participants an engaging experience and aid them in grasping civic concerns in depth.
The students have already begun field trips following the official handover in July of this year. In March, they will work on respective projects and present their results to the jury, including professionals from business and MICA.
"We need to develop a marketing strategy for SVP Hospital, which begins with an awareness of the current environment. We are currently conducting fieldwork and primary research," according to one of the students, Mihir Shah.
Ramya Kumar Bhatt, AMC's deputy municipal commissioner, said of the partnership: "The extent of AMC's functioning is enormous. Through this collaboration, MICA students will directly collaborate with several AMC departments, conduct research, and assist us in making a significant difference in the lives of citizens."
According to AMC officials, the project has no financial components.
"To define the function of volunteers and to attract them, we must create a complete engagement policy for a volunteer engagement programme. It's a novel experience," stated student Herat Kumar Talati.
