New Delhi: Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College and Hospital has been asked by the higher education department to identify students who have taken admission to several colleges and universities with the help of fake PwD certificates.
The higher education department has already sent the names of three students to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital. As per the claim, these students are studying the undergraduate courses in two supreme colleges in Berhampur for the academic session 2021-23. Two of these students have submitted the PwD certificates for blindness and low vision and the third student has submitted a PwD Locomotor certificate, as reported by TOI.
Measures Taken Against Students Admitted on the Basis of Fake Documents:
Many students managed to get admission to the institution on the basis of fake documents. The department already cancelled admission of eight students of the BJB Autonomous College on April 8, 2022. Reportedly, these students had taken admission to the College by submitting fake disability certificates for the sessions of 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22.
Upon receiving the complaint lodged by the BJB Autonomous College, the authority took this step against those eight students.
“If a normal student says he cannot see things clearly and submits a fake certificate for the visually impaired, what can we do? There is no scope to detect any forgery during the busy process of admission. That's why we send these certificates for verification,” as stated by a teacher at the institute.
