Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has made a 31-point standard operating procedure (SOP) for conducting its summer 2020 examination.
As per sources, over 9,700 students will appear for the MUHS post-graduate (PG) examination of different health science streams from August 17.
The varsity has informed that exams for courses like Ayurveda, homoeopathy and nursing would begin from August 17. While exams for allopathy course like MS, MD etc would start from August 25.
Earlier, the varsity had to defer the undergraduate exams of all the courses due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the Bombay high court has now allowed the varsity to conduct the PG examinations.

Examination Centres & Precautionary Measures
The varsity’s controller of examination, Ajit Pathak, has informed that exam centres across the state have been increased to from 75 145 in view of the Covid-19 safety protocol.
Pathak also stated that he had a video conference with all the exam centre in-charge and discussed the guidelines to hold the examination in a smooth manner.
Unlike previous exams this time there would be no inspection of any examinees before the exam due to physical distancing norm that must be adhered to. However, students would not be allowed to wear wristwatches.
Moreover, there would be a mandatory thermal screening of all those involved in the exams, including the students.
Students will have to mandatorily wear masks while writing the exam. If any student forgets to bring a mask, the varsity would provide the student with a fresh mask. Students are also permitted to use face shields and gloves.
