Once the selection process ends, a list of candidates selected provisionally would be released by UGC. Joining of fellowship would be facilitated for them only when the relevant facts and/or information furnished by the candidates in the applications made online are verified and authenticated satisfactorily.

Once the candidates join the fellowship, they would not be allowed to claim any kind of financial benefits from the Central Government, respective State Government or any authority such as the UGC to pursue an M.Phil or a Ph.D.

Such kind of fellowship is an important initiative in terms of providing incentives to people with restricted mobility for pursuing their higher education to obtain research degrees such as M.Phil and Ph.D.

Earlier, UGC has also drafted new regulations to allow institutes to source up to 40% of the content externally or through online courses.
