New Delhi: Making the competition tougher for the year 2022, NEET UG 2022 has crossed over 18 lakh registration numbers for the first time. The numbers have increased by 2.6 lakh from the previous year's data of 16 lakh registrations.
As per the applications received, NEET UG 2022 has recorded a large number of registrations from female candidates. The number has crossed the 10 lakh mark for female registration for session 2022.
For the year 2022, the gap between female and male candidates in NEET-UG 2022 registrations has been recorded at 2.6 Lakh with an increase of about 41% in female candidates' participation.
Out of a total of 18 Lakh registrations received for NEET-UG 2022, 10,64,6060 applications are from females and 8,07,711 are from male candidates. Overall, there is an increase of 274.3% in the last five years for candidates who will appear for the exam.
NEET UG 2022: Category & Gender Wise Registration Data
While talking about reserved category registrations, over 7,86,519 registrations are received from OBC-NCL (Central List) followed by 2,67,876 applications from the SC category, and 1,29,515 from the Gen-EWS category.

NEET-UG 2022 Registration: Year Wise Statistics
Analyzing the 2022 data, NEET UG 2022 has breached its own record of highest registration with an increase of 2 Lakh applications. The registrations have increased from 11.4 Lakh for 2017 session to 18.7 Lakh for 2022 session.
For session 2019, over 1.52 M candidates registered for the exam, while 2017 received the least number of registrations with only 1.14 M applications. Check the year-wise data and see how NEET UG aspirants have grown over the years in the reference table below:

About NEET UG 2022
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET UG is a qualifying entrance exam conducted by NTA for admission to various medical courses. Some of the colleges in India that accept NEET scores are AIIMS and JIPMER, Puducherry.
Based on marks secured in the entrance exam, students are offered admission seats in premier medical colleges. Courses offered through NEET UG are MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, and BSc (H) Nursing among others.
Earlier, NEET UG 2022 aspirants requested the authorities to postpone the examination to a later date so that they can get more time to prepare for the exam. The request has been made in view of the clash of NEET 2022 exam dates with other entrance examinations.
