NLSIU Bangalore Seat Matrix Revised for BA LLB and LLM Programmes


The National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU) has released the revised seat matrix for BA LLB and LLM courses on August 4, 2020. 

Now total seats for NLSIU Bangalore through CLAT 2020 is increased from 80 to 120 seats for BA LLB Course. While the LLM Course will have intake of 50 seats. 

The National Law School of India (Amendement) Act 2020, enacted by the state government on July 27, 2020 has also introduced a new category “Karnataka Students” for seat reservation. 

Students who have studied for at least 10 years in a recognized Institution in Karnataka can apply for under the category of “Karnataka Students”. 

Already registered candidates for CLAT 2020 and selected NLSIU Bangalore as their most preferred college, must update their domicile if they are a resident of Karnataka state.

As per the official notification, Candidates are requested to update their eligibility criteria by August 17, 2020 (Monday), if applicable.

Benefits of the Revised Seat Matrix

  • Candidates applying under the said category will be preferred for admission for up to 25% of the total seats available in BA LLM and LLM courses.

  • The University is also offering a 5% concession to the ‘Karnataka Students’ on category wise merit cut off score for General Category.

  • ‘Karnataka Students’ who belong to SC, ST or PwD categories shall be subject to the same concessions provided to SC, ST and PwD categories respectively.
