NMC Approves Five PG Medical Seats in Emergency Medicine Department of MGMMC Indore

New Delhi: Medical Assessment and Rating Board of National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved five admission seats for postgraduate medical courses in the Emergency Medicine Department of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGMMC), Indore.

Following this approval, MGMMC Indore has become the first government-run medical college in Madhya Pradesh to receive approval from NMC to offer an Emergency Medicine course. These approved seats will be offered to eligible candidates from the academic session 2023-24. 

Earlier, the colleges requested the NMC to approve a total of 21 postgraduate medical seats for the Emergency Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) courses. After this, NMC issued a letter to the dean of MGM Medical Colleges to confirm the approval.

In the letter, the commission has directed MGMMC Indore to submit a copy of the required documents along with details of faculty members, facilities available, staff member availability and equipment present at the campus to avail the admission seats. 

Talking about the approval, Dean of MGMMC, Dr Sanjay Dixit shared that the authority is now preparing to submit the mentioned documents at the earliest to obtain the letter of permission. "We have already completed recruitment and other requirements for the same", he shared. 

Adding to the statement, he said, "We have become the first government medical college in the state to get permission for the same". The approval was given on the basis of the report submitted by the assessor who inspected the colleges.

As of now, MGMMC Indore offers various medical courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate and diploma levels. Some of the most in-demand courses of the college are MBBS, MD, MCh and MS among others.
