NSI Admission 2021: Application Form Deadline Extended: Check Dates, Eligibility, Admit Card, Selection Procedure


The National Sugar Institute (NSI), Kanpur, has released the application form for the NSI entrance exam 2021. Interested candidates should apply online at nsi.gov.in.

The entrance exam will be held on July 18, 2021, at NSI, Kanpur. It is held to offer admission to Post Graduate Diploma courses. Indian candidates are chosen based on their performance in the Admission Test/Personal Interview. Foreign candidates are not required to take the entrance exam, and their admission is based on a first-come, first-served basis.

NSI Admission 2021: Application Process

NSI Kanpur has released the online application form for admission to PG Diploma and Certificate Courses. It is available in online mode at the official website i.e. nsi.gov.in. After submission of an online form, the applicant receives the computer-generated filled in application form in pdf format. Candidates must note that only one application form is accepted for one course only.

How to Apply?

  1. Visit the official website of NSI @nsi.gov.in.
  2. Scroll down the page and click on the button “Admission 2021”
  3. Click on the “Online Application Form Submission Link” depending on your nationality (Indian or Foreign)
  4. Enter the course details and other details and check eligibility first
  5. If you are eligible you will be forwarded to the next step of application process, else you won’t be able to fill the form
  6. Pay the application fees

Application Fee and Payment Mode

The application fee should be sent in the form of a DD made out to “Director, National Sugar Institute” and payable in Kanpur.

  • INR 1500/- for all applicants except SC/ST
  • INR 1000/- for SC/ST Candidates

Note: There is no application fee for candidates in the foreign category.

The computer-generated filled-in application form, along with the required documents, must be submitted to the following address by the candidate:

NSI Admission 2021: Documents Required

  1. Self-attested Passport size Photograph pasted on plain paper
  2. Self Attested copy of the certificate as proof of Date of birth.
  3. Demand draft towards the application fees
  4. Self Attested copies of the mark sheets. (For each Year / Semester of B.Sc./B.E., etc.)
  5. Original copy of the Nomination Form generated from NSI website at the time of submission of the form (Compulsory for SBCC only)
  6. For S.C./S.T. category candidates, a Self-attested copy of the certificate from the appropriate authority in the rank of D.M./Collector/S.D.M./Tehsildar, with a legible seal should be submitted.
  7. For OBC (NCL) category candidates, a self-attested copy of the certificate from the appropriate authority in the rank of D.M./Collector/S.D.M./Tehsildar, with a legible seal should be submitted. The Certificate should be issued after March 31, 2020.
  8. For EWS category candidates, a self-attested copy of the certificate from the appropriate authority in the rank of D.M./Collector/S.D.M./Tehsildar, with a legible seal should be submitted. The Certificate should be issued after March 31, 2020.
  9. For candidates belonging to the ‘Rural Category’, the certificate must be given in prescribed form generated from the NSI website at the time of submission of the form.
  10. For candidates belonging to the ‘Defence Category’, are required to submit a self-attested copy of the certificate from Secretary, Kendriya Sainik Board, Delhi/Secretary, Rajya/Zila Sainik Board /Officer In-charge, Records office/Ist Class Stipendary Magistrate.
  11. For candidates belonging to Persons with Disabilities, the self-attested copy of the certificate should be on the letterhead duly signed by the Chief Medical Officer with seal.
  12. Experience certificates should be submitted on the official letterhead of the Factory only. [Compulsory for SBCC &CCSPMM only].

  • ANSI(ST) for FNSI in Sugar Technology/Sugar Chemistry, ANSI(SE) for FNSI in Sugar Engg.& DIFAT for FNSI in Fermentation Technology. Application for F.N.S.I. in Sugar Technology & Sugar Engineering should be sponsored by a sugar factory for carrying out the research pertaining to this course. Similarly, application for F.N.S.I. in Fermentation Technology should be sponsored by a distillery or brewery industry for carrying out the research work pertaining to this course. Unsponsored applications would be rejected.
  • Age Limit: 50 years (Maximum) as on July 01, 2021 for both for Indian and Foreign category candidates.

NSI Admission 2021 Admit Card

The NSI Entrance Exam 2021 Admit Card will be available online at the NSI website. On the day of the examination, all candidates must download the admit card and bring it with them to the exam centre. The direct download link for the admit card will be provided here. It is recommended that a copy of the admit card be kept safe for the remainder of the NSI Admission 2021 process. Candidates will not be permitted to take the Entrance Examination unless they have a valid admit card.

NSI Admission 2021 Selection Procedure and Seat Intake

Candidates can find out how many seats are available in a course at the National Sugar Institute in Kanpur. The Admission Test/Personal Interview is used to select Indian candidates. Foreign category candidates, on the other hand, are not required to take an entrance examination, and admission to the courses listed below is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Foreign category candidates are admitted based on their merit, subject to meeting the necessary educational qualifications and other requirements.

NSI Admission 2021 Result

Officials will announce the results of the Entrance Examination for NSI Admission 2021. Provisionally selected and waitlisted candidates will be notified for counselling via the nsi.gov.in website. Candidates can also access the Entrance Examination Result via the link provided here.
