On December 03, 2020, Odisha Mass Education Minister S R Dash made an announcement, stating that Odisha Board Class 10th, 12th Board Exams will conduct on an extended schedule in February and March 2021 through offline means.
As per Odisha Mass Education Minister S R Dash’s statement, the state will commence the Odisha Board Class 10th, and 12th Board Examination in accordance with CBSE’s Covid-19 instructions for written mode exams.
He further added that the Odisha Board Examination for class 10th and 12th will be delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic and restrictions.

He said, "It is not possible on the part of both the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) to conduct the examination in February and March, as many students cannot access the online classes".
Additionally, the School & Mass Education Department is expected to reopen schools in the state for class 9th and onwards, as the board examination for classes can only be conducted after the commencement of a minimum of three months of physical classes.

Referring to school reopening, Odisha Mass Education Minister S R Dash stated that school reopening decision will be taken after keeping students interested and coronavirus safety guidelines in mind.
In accordance with Odisha Government December Guidelines, schools, and educational institutes in the states who are under the supervision of the education department can now reopen their physical classes for students of class 9th onwards.
