Odisha Higher Secondary Admission Process Ended Successfully on Oct 17


October 18, 2020: Odisha Higher Secondary Schools has completed the admission process for the plus 2 class on October 17, 2020. After the completion of the first and second admission process, the spot admission process for plus 2 classes was conducted on October 16, 2020. 

A total of 38.84 Lakh students applied for the higher secondary admission seats in 2020. There are a total of 2028 higher secondary schools in Odisha, in which 4, 53, 643 seats were available for plus 2 admission process.

Referring to the admission process, Director of Higher Secondary Education, Brundadan Behera said, "We will update the admission data of the students who took admission in the spot selected by the higher secondary schools in the e-space immediately."

The director further stated that the notice for conducting physical classes in higher secondary schools are yet to be announced. He added," The admission is over, we will update the data of schools. The schools and mass education department will take decisions regarding classes on campuses".

Online admission form was made available for candidates from August 21, 2020. After the end of the application process, the Odisha exam authority released the first merit list for admission in higher secondary schools on September 18, 2020. 

Accordingly, the second merit list was published on October 5, 2020. For the Spot selection admission, the merit list for plus 2 admissions was released on October 15, 2020.

The online classes for the new batch for higher secondary classes will begin from November 2020, as stated Odisha Government. 

Conduction of physical classes for plus 2 students may take some time, but in the meantime, online learning classes will be made available for students. 

Online learning classes will begin via conference apps made available for students. Class notes and other classroom details will be shared with students via email or WhatsApp groups. 

Doordarshan channels have also started the airing of video lectures for science and other stream students. Online classes for first-year students of plus 2 classes will begin soon.
