Patna University has reopened the Postgraduate Departments and colleges but the varsity has not yet started the academic activities. UGC had directed all the universities to start regular academic activities following the COVID-19 guidelines but there is no official communication on the resumption of classes.
NK Jha, Students’ Welfare Dean at Patna University stated that physical classes are unlikely to start in the month of December 2020. He further added that the varsity is finalizing undergraduate admissions that shall be completed by mid-December.
Additionally, admission to PU’s postgraduate courses will commence from the first week of December, for which the application forms can be submitted by November 30, 2020.

On November 23, 2020, Patna University conducted a counselling session for students seeking admission to B.Ed. courses at Patna Training College. However, the counselling session for admission to B.Ed. courses at Patna Women’s College (PWC) and Women’s Training will be conducted on November 30, 2020.
NK Jha, nodal officer stated that admission to B.Ed. programs at various colleges will be based on the merit rank of students achieved through state-level combined entrance tests.
Moreover, Patna University has decided to conduct pending undergraduate and postgraduate semester-end exams. The examinations for Degree 2nd Semester students have begun from November 24, 2020.
While the examinations for Degree 1st Semester and 2nd and 4th postgraduate students will begin in the first week of December.
Earlier this month, the University Grants Commission had issued an advisory granting permissions to universities to start regular activities at their campuses. However, the Patna Government has not released any official notice related to the resumption of offline classes.
Educational Institutions have not been functioning in the state of Patna since March 24 with the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
