Presidency University Kolkata to Tally Plus-II Marks for PG Admission 2020; Details Here

Presidency University has now decided to tally the marks of Plus-II Board Exams for candidates from other universities who are seeking admission in PG courses offered by the varsity.

The authorities of Presidency University have made this decision as marks obtained in the final-year UG exams did not reflect their merit as final-year candidates took the last semester exams from home.

It has been notified by Presidency University authorities that candidates would only be able to get admissions in the PG courses based on the merit obtained in the UG exams and Plus-II board exams that were written in 2017.

Currently, 20% of the 417 PG seats are available for candidates from other universities. The application form for the same was available from November 5 to 16 on the varsity's website.

Only the 3 departments at the varsity will accept the students solely based on their performance in the UG exams. These departments are English, Bengali, and Hindi.

The Vice-Chancellor of Presidency University, Anuradha Lohia said that the university has left it to the departments to decide on how they want to screen the candidates for the PG courses. However, many of the department officials thought the scores obtained by the candidates in the Plus-II level will be helpful to judge the candidates.
