Rajasthan State Technical Universities decided to allow other state students back to the campus

The State Technical Universities of Bikaner and Kota are all set to allow the entry of all the Rajasthan students returning from other states due to COVID-19. All these universities had bent their rules and regulations for the accommodation of the state students returning from other states.

In the view of the pandemic, this new move was made when several students expressed their concerns of not being able to continue with their studies in the metro-cities like- Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Bangalore etc. due to the Coronavirus lockdown imposed across the country.

According to the rules made by the State Technical Universities, it has been mentioned that the students will be accredited with their respective state colleges and institutions. Thereafter, they can proceed further with their remaining degree courses in the respective state universities.

As per the State Technical University, the procedure of admission in the mid-session of 4-year bachelor’s degree courses and a 2-year PG courses is called Lateral Entry.

Most of the students have returned to their respective hometowns from across the country since the Country wide lockdown began. Since the duration of the pandemic is uncertain, these students have started looking for opportunities to complete their courses in their hometowns.

As a result, the engineering and degree colleges are being urged by the students for the admissions in the mid-sessions of their degree courses. The same procedure for the admissions has been going on since the month of May. Following their return, the key reasons being cited by the students are- Financial Crisis and the uncertainty over the duration of the ongoing pandemic.
