New Delhi: Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University (RKMVU) is accepting applications for PhD programmes in various specialisations for the 2022-23 academic session. Candidates need to visit the official website to fill in the application form and fees.
RKMVU has begun registrations for its 3-year PhD programs in its Belur (Kolkata) campus only. The specialisations offered are mentioned below:
At Belur Main Campus (Kolkata)
- PhD Nonlinear Dynamics, Dept. of Mathematics
- PhD in Physics
- PhD in Sports Science
- PhD in Yoga
However, it should be noted that doctoral programs are offered for full-time only, no part-time applications will be entertained. Students who wish to apply for RKMVU Admission 2022 can register now at rkmvu.ac.in with a fee of INR 500.

RKMVU PhD Admissions 2022: Eligibility Criteria
Students aspiring to take RKMVU PhD Admission 2022 have to fulfil certain eligibility criteria before applying:
For PhD in Physics
- Students applying should have scored at least 60% marks in both B.Sc. (Physics Major/Hons.) and M.Sc. (Physics) examinations from any recognized University or Institute. SC/ST candidates will get a 5% concession in the minimum eligibility of marks required for admission.
- Students applying for the program should be below 28 years of age on the date of application.
- Students must have either qualified in GATE / CSIR-UGC NET(JRF) / JEST and equivalent national level examination with Research Fellowship allowing entry into PhD or must have the DST-INSPIRE fellowship.
For PhD in Area of Nonlinear Dynamics
- First Class (60 percent or higher) in M.Sc Mathematics from any recognised Indian or international university or institute.
- Research motivation and a readiness to put in long hours
For PhD in Sports Science and Yoga
- Students must have passed a masters degree from a regular college.
- M.Sc in Sports Science/Exercise Physiology/Sports Biomechanics/Sports Biochemistry/Sports Nutrition/Sports Coaching/yoga – with UGC-NET / CSIR-NET / ICMR-NET / DST-INSPIRE certificate in applicable Major.
- M.Sc. in Science or related courses (sports sciences) with UGC-NET / CSIR-NET / ICMR-NET / DST-INSPIRE
RKMVU PhD Admissions 2022: Selection Criteria
For PhD in Physics
- Students with PhD fellowships under CSIR-UGC NET (JRF)/DST-INSPIRE or other Governmental Schemes are given preference while selection on the basis of a rigorous viva-voce examination to be conducted by the Department online.
- Whereas students with no fellowships will have to appear for a written test (Research Eligibility Test) conducted by the Department.Candidates who pass the written test will be subjected to a more thorough viva-voce examination.
- While the University will not be able to grant any scholarships for PhD candidates, it will make every effort to assist them in obtaining fellowships from sources such as the Government of West Bengal's "Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Fellowship." The University, on the other hand, will not make any commitments in this regard.
For PhD in Area of Nonlinear Dynamics
- Applicants will be chosen based on a possible written test, which will be followed by a tough viva-voce examination administered by the Department.
For PhD in Sports Science and Yoga
- RF candidates who have been shortlisted will be contacted for an interview (written test is waived off).
- Non-JRF NET qualified candidates who have been shortlisted will be required to take an entrance test and interview. Shortlisted candidates will be informed of the entrance test topics.
