RV University Collaborates with UpGrad to Introduce a Data Science MTech Programme

New Delhi: RV University, Bangalore, enters into a partnership with upGrad, an ed-tech company, to provide an MTech degree in data science. The alliance is to provide a market-relevant curriculum to educate students in compliance with industry standards.

Beginning in 2023, the cooperation will provide employed professionals with a full-time and part-time MTech degree in data science. The combined program's strengths include industry- and job-ready specialisations, real-world case investigations and projects, guidance from business leaders, and extensive practice with the newest tools and techniques.

RV University and upGrad will both be the providers of the programs. The two-year upGrad degree programme offers seven specialisations and will feature live classes with on-campus instructors to address questions and practical exercises.

Advanced programming, math, domain-specific data science, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning principles, as well as specialisation and industry-driven activities, will all be covered in the courses.

A modular architecture based on trimesters will be used to accommodate assignment deadlines and engagements. According to National Education Policy (NEP), students can graduate with a postgraduate degree or accumulate credits in the Academic Bank of Credits.

The second year of the full-time programme will include an internship, research, and product innovation. Credits for work in the industry will be offered to part-time candidates. In addition to internships and overseas study opportunities in the final year, the curriculum encourages multidisciplinary study with programs from other RVU Schools.

The upGrad campus focuses on bridging the divide between the college curriculum and industry standards and helping college students become industry-ready. After completing the curriculum, RV University will grant the students a degree, and the students participating in this joint course will receive a certificate from upGrad campus.

The vice chancellor of RV University, YSR Murthy, welcomed the signing of the contract and added, "We are pleased to embark on this cooperation with upGrad. Our goal is to become a top-tier, technologically advanced educator.”

He continued, “The arrangement with upGrad will enable them to collaborate on a post-graduate programme in data science, he continued. We are wholly committed to creating top-notch tech leaders. The students will undoubtedly certainly benefit by getting better job opportunities.”
